Dr. Susan Jackson was a long-time professor of art history in Marshall’s School of Art and Design. Jackson also chaired the Women’s Studies Committee and served as the coordinator of the Women’s and Gender Studies program at Marshall. The Susan Jackson Award honors her memory. Faculty in the School of Art and Design present the award to a senior art student with preference for female-identifying students with art history and/or women’s studies affiliations. Senior art students who have incorporated themes of gender or art history into their studio work are also considered. The award is presented at the annual Women’s and Gender Center Ceremony in the spring.
