The Department of Chemistry recently wrapped up an exciting summer of science with the 2025 Chemistry Research Summer Program (CRSP) and Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Final Symposium. Over the course of 10 weeks, student researchers dove into hands-on projects—and the results were on full display at this high-energy event!
A total of 17 presentations showcased the innovative work of our student scientists. Research topics ranged from polymer self-assembly and protein purification to oxidative stress in tardigrades and the degradative functionalization of PFAS. One project even explored the elusive propargyl radical!
Many participants aren’t stopping here—they’re preparing to present their findings on national and international stages in the coming year. The future of chemistry is bright, and it’s starting right here at Marshall!
