NRES associate professor Rick Gage to receive Reynolds Outstanding Teacher Award

The College of Science is proud to celebrate Rick Gage as the recipient of the Marshall and Shirley Reynolds Outstanding Teacher Award for 2025–2026, one of the university’s highest honors for teaching excellence.

This prestigious award recognizes faculty members who inspire curiosity, foster student success, and bring energy and innovation into the classroom. Rick’s dedication to student learning and academic excellence exemplifies the values that make the College of Science an exciting place to learn, explore, and discover.

Rick will be formally recognized during the Spring General Faculty Meeting on Thursday, April 9, at 4:00 p.m. Members of the campus community are encouraged to attend and join us in celebrating this well-deserved accomplishment.

Established through a generous gift from Marshall and Shirley Reynolds and supported by the Marshall University Foundation, the Reynolds Outstanding Teacher Award is presented annually to encourage and recognize exceptional teaching. The award includes a $3,000 honorarium, contingent upon program funding, and honors a faculty member who demonstrates superior teaching achievement and a commitment to student success.
