Colloquium: “Interactive Regression Models with Centering”

Marshall University Math Colloquium
September 17, 2014

Dr. Laura Adkins
Marshall University

Abstract
Including interaction in a multiple regression model can increase its accuracy. Unfortunately, it also leads to multicollinearity, which violates the requirements of linear regression. I will discuss the use of centering to resolve this problem. I will then use an applied example to illustrate its use and explore its effectiveness.
