The Marshall University Division of Applied Science and Technology, Safety Technology program and the Safety Technology Advisory Board will be hosting the first Marshall Safety Conference Sept. 17. The conference will focus on safety culture development for local and regional businesses.
“Safety is an integral part of operating a business in today’s world,” said Toney Stroud, Safety Technology Advisory Board chairman. “Employers invest a significant amount of company resources to ensure their employees have a safe work environment. Thus, we are excited to offer this opportunity for area businesses to learn and share information necessary to create and maintain a safety-conscious culture in the workplace.”
The Safety Technology program, housed in the College of Engineering and Computer Sciences, provides students with a comprehensive preparatory experience and real-world application of skills, for entry-level occupational safety and health jobs with industry, commercial, government and service organizations.
