MUsic Alive Series to present ‘Strings Attached’ featuring faculty performers

The Marshall University School of Music will present “Strings Attached,” featuring Marshall faculty members Dr. Elizabeth Reed Smith on violin, Dr. Şőlen Dikener on cello and Dr. Júlio Ribeiro Alves on guitar.

The concert is part of the MUsic Alive Guest Artist and Faculty Collaboration Series and will be presented at:

  • 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.12, at Woodlands Retirement Community
  • 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Smith Recital Hall at Marshall University, and
  • 12 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at First Presbyterian Church.

The faculty will perform duos and trios by Bogdanovic, Ibert, Tomasi, Zenamon, Haydn, Weber, Marchelie, Albéniz and de Falla.

The performances are free and open to all, with sponsorship from the MU School of Music, First Presbyterian Church and Woodlands Retirement Community.
