Marshall University will be closed Friday, March 19, as it observes a state holiday previously awarded to state employees in December 2020 by Gov. Jim Justice.
Since Marshall University was already scheduled to be closed on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, the university’s holiday calendar was adjusted to utilize the governor’s proclamation and observe the holiday on Friday.
The day was chosen because students are on spring holiday and university offices are less busy.
