Biography
Originally from South Carolina, I began my career in student affairs at Winthrop University, where I earned my B.A. in Mass Communication in 2016. I then went on to earn my M.Ed. in Higher Education Student Affairs from Western Carolina University in 2018. I’ve worked in various housing and residence life roles during my time, including as a Resident Director for Georgia Southern University, and most recently as an Area Coordinator for Marshall University. In 2022, I accepted the role of Assistant Director of Student Conduct to continue my work in creating meaningful change in students’ lives.
I am passionate about student development because I know a student’s experience at college will significantly impact their success in the future. I’ve seen the effects choices can have in a student’s success, in my own journey and in others. Mistakes and poor decisions are a fact of life, and each student will make one at some point during their time in college. I believe a student’s true character, however, is defined by the choices they make in the moments after. True growth and character development occurs when students take accountability and seek change. I aim to meet students where they are at in their journey to help them keep moving forward in a positive and constructive way.
