Biography

Dr. Omar Attarabeen received his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from Jordan University of Science & Technology. Then, he completed his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Health Outcomes Research from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. Dr. Attarabeen is a registered pharmacist in West Virginia as well as in Pennsylvania. While completing his Ph.D. degree, Dr. Attarabeen practiced pharmacy in West Virginia for several years. He then joined Marshall University School of Pharmacy in 2016 as an Assistant Professor. He teaches/co-teaches in several courses in the PharmD curriculum, including Pharmacy Management 1 (Leadership), Pharmacy Management 2 (Finance), Pharmacy Practice 2, Curbing Medication Abuse, Drug Information/Communication, Capstone, and Integrated Lab. In addition to his teaching and research responsibilities as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Attarabeen is also the Director of Assessment & Accreditation at the School of Pharmacy. Dr. Attarabeen has published a number of articles and made several presentations at local and national conferences. His research interests lie in the areas of programmatic assessment, assessment of student learning, pharmacy education, health behavior, minorities’ utilization of health care services, pharmaceutical marketing, disease prevention, as well as health promotion.
