Information Technology Production Freezes for Campus Services

What is a Production Freeze?

A production freeze process ensures service availability and reduces risk by establishing a period of time, or “freeze”, during a business cycle where we will eliminate changes to any component related to any business critical service. In short, no major changes are made to services and systems during a freeze.

Necessary updates and security patches can be applied and emergency maintenance can be done during a freeze. For all other maintenance requests, security patches, and /or critical updates during freeze periods, a consensus of IT administration must agree to the change or update based on immediate need.
