The Design Center offers a variety of live and self-paced training, as well as campus events. If there is a certain topic or part of distance education that you believe would benefit faculty or students, please contact us. We’d love to hear your feedback!
H.O.M.E. Framework Certification
The H.O.M.E. (Humanistic Online Model for Engagement) Framework is our quality assurance model for online teaching. Go to our H.O.M.E. Framework page to learn more about our approach and the specific standards.
The deadline for certification is June 30th, 2026. As we move closer to the certification deadline, we want to ensure every faculty member has a path that works best for their schedule. If you haven’t registered for a live training session, you can still meet the requirement by completing the asynchronous certification course — a flexible option designed to let you work at your own pace, revisit materials as needed, and engage with insights from peers who have shared their experiences along the way.
Please note: if you are not registered for a live training by the deadline, the asynchronous course will be your required path to certification.
While this current initiative is focused on ensuring that all faculty complete the new HOME certification, trainings will always continue. Ongoing sessions and refreshers will provide opportunities to keep your certification current and to stay connected with best practices in online teaching.
