Accelerating Research Productivity

Friday, October 22, 2021 and Friday, November 12, 2021 | 3:00 – 4:30 pm | MSC 2E37 (John Spotts Room)

New faculty often struggle to jumpstart their own lines of research and labs. This is often complicated by the desire to publish and present research during their first two or three years while also teaching full-time. The key is to develop new and effective practices for a new environment. These sessions are designed to provide new faculty with information about resources and research services on campus to help jumpstart their research productivity.

The sessions will discuss information such as:

  • Marshall’s institutional review board (ORI)
  • incorporating undergraduate and graduate students into research
  • working on grants
  • working with outside agencies
  • starting your own lab
  • writing abstracts
  • choosing appropriate venues for presentations and publications, plus how to get started in both of these areas
