New Faculty Programs – Fall Semester

As a part of our New Faculty Orientation program, The Center for Teaching and Learning hosts a series of events for new faculty throughout the year. These events are intended to follow up the Orientation program by providing you with information as it is needed during the fall and spring semesters.

Digital Measures

Friday, September 2, 2022 | 3:00 – 4:30 pm | Drinko Library 349

REGISTRATION (session closed)

In this workshop, you will begin creating your planning page and annual report by entering your professional activities into Digital Measures. Before attending, we need you to prepare. First, login to Digital Measures a few days prior to our meeting. (Log in through myMU, using the same credentials you use to login to PCs on campus.) If you cannot log in, contact us by Friday, August 26th so we can ensure that you have access when we meet. You are encouraged to bring a laptop and a copy of your vita to the session.

Advising Technologies

Friday, October 7, 2022 | 3:00 – 4:30 pm | Drinko Library 349

REGISTRATION

We will review the Education Advisory Board’s Navigate tool during this session. This tool is one of Marshall’s main student success initiatives. The Navigate tool can aid student success in multiple ways, and you are critical as faculty. In this session, you will learn how you can support students through Navigate and how other student support units can come alongside you to support students you identify through the platform.

Advising and Mentorship

Friday, October 28, 2022 | 3:00 – 4:30 pm | Drinko Library 349

REGISTRATION

During this session, we will review helpful resources, tools, and strategies for advisors and mentors.  We will also discuss ways to collaborate with our campus partners.  Please bring any questions or advising/mentoring situations you would like to further explore.
