MUIT Information Security strongly recommends using antivirus software and keeping operating systems up-to-date. Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection is an antivirus/anti-malware software solution which is offered to all Marshall-owned devices. Students and employees can use free antivirus software (KB Article) on personally owned devices.

Every day, cyber-criminals are trying new ways to trick unsuspecting users into sharing their logon credentials or installing malicious software onto their network connected devices. An informed and wary user will be less likely to fall prey to online scams.
