Two Pulitzer Prize winners will review the development of the stories that earned their recognition and discuss the role journalism plays in fostering informed citizens at a free public forum at 7 p.m. Monday, April 2, in the Brad D. Smith Foundation Hall on Marshall’s Huntington campus.

Students from WMUL-FM, Marshall University’s public radio station, won four first-place awards and four finalist awards in the four radio categories available in the 2017 Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Mark of Excellence Contest for Region Four. The awards were presented March 10 at Point Park University in Pittsburgh.

Marshall professor Dan Hollis received two first-place awards for his creative work at the recent National Broadcasting Society national convention in Washington, D.C.

Marshall University will present a screening of Meadow Bridge, written and directed by Tijah Bumgarner, assistant professor of Journalism and Mass Communication in the College of Arts and Media, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, in room 154 of Smith Hall on Marshall’s Huntington campus.

Students from Marshall University’s public radio station, WMUL-FM, received three Platinum Awards, six Gold Awards and three Honorable Mention Awards in the International AVA Digital Awards 2018 Competition.
