Next Steps for New Students

If you have not completed the following items prior to your arrival in Huntington, be sure to do them as soon as possible. These steps will help you prepare for the semester and be successful as a Marshall student:

 

 ACTIVATE YOUR MUNET ONLINE ACCOUNT
After you are admitted to Marshall University, you will be able to activate your MUNET online account.  Please click here for information to activate your computing account.  Be sure to choose MUID as the ID type.  For more information regarding online services, including registration, email access, and other IT services, click here.

 PURCHASE HEALTH INSURANCE
Marshall University requires all international students to have health insurance while studying in their degree program. Students are also required to show proof of insurance prior to registering for each semester during their study at Marshall University.

 APPLY FOR ON-CAMPUS HOUSING
International students who wish to live on Marshall’s campus can enroll online using the online housing application. The application is password protected. When you are ready to access the online housing application, please email iss@marshall.edu, and a password will be sent to you. If a student wishes to live off-campus, it is the student’s responsibility to find living arrangements.

REGISTER FOR CLASSES

Sign in to your MyMU Account to register for classes online, or contact your advisor or program for assistance with registering for classes. You can also visit or contact the Marshall University Registrar’s Office for assistance with registration.

REVIEW MARSHALL UNIVERSITY’S ACADEMIC CALENDAR AND TUITION FEES DEADLINES

The Academic Calendar will give you important deadlines and dates to remember regarding registration, adding or dropping classes, paying tuition, and university breaks. We encourage students to familiarize themselves with the Academic Calendar and make note of important dates for the semester. PAY YOUR TUITION AND FEES

Unless you are an INTO student studying Academic English or a Pathway program, all university tuition and fees can be paid through the Office of the Bursar. Be sure to contact the Office of the Bursar to verify that you do not have an outstanding balance for your tuition and fees payments.


ONCE YOU ARRIVE AT MARSHALL UNIVERSITY

The Office of International Student Services holds  mandatory international student Check-in and Immigration Sessions the week before regular classes begin each semester. It is a requirement that new international students attend these meetings. Please follow the link for more information about Check-in, Immigration Session, and Arrival.
