Dean’s Message
Dear Lewis College of Business Community:
I am honored to share with you that I have recently been named the Interim Dean of the Lewis College of Business and Brad D. Smith Schools of Business at Marshall University. As a native of Huntington, an alumnus, and a faculty member of our esteemed College, it is a privilege to serve you all in this new role.
This academic year, a national search will be conducted for the permanent Dean. During this interim period, I am eager to work closely with all of our stakeholders—faculty, staff, students, advisory board members, community businesses, local government, and more—to continue to align, innovate, and advance the goals of the Marshall for All, Marshall Forever strategic plan. And, together, continue to uphold and fulfill our College’s mission and vision to create and spread business knowledge that brings prosperity to our students, West Virginia, and beyond.
To share our progress with you, the Monday Morning Memo will focus on spotlighting the College’s highest-impact achievements, reporting the latest news of what’s recently occurred, and informing you on exciting upcoming events that you might want to participate in. As you’re accustomed, the Monday Morning Memo will continue to come out weekly on Mondays during the Fall and Spring when school is in full swing. And during the summer when less news and events occur, the Monday Morning Memo will come out once a month on the second Monday of each summer month.
I thank you for your continued support and dedication to the University’s goals and our College’s mission. None of us can do what all of us can do, if we do it together. I look forward to the new journey ahead and the great accomplishments we will achieve.
