Writing Across the Curriculum Program
Kateryna Schray, Director
rudnytzk@marshall.edu | Old Main 109 | x6-2404
Writing Across the Curriculum as a teaching methodology can be summed up in one appealing chiasm: Write to learn; learn to write. Created to reinforce writing skills in classes outside of English Composition, this academic movement engages students directly in the subject matter of the course through a variety of activities that focus on writing as a means of learning. Marshall students are required to complete six credit hours of Writing Intensive coursework; while many Gen Ed courses are offered as Writing Intensive, the ideal is for students to be able to fulfill this requirement by taking courses within their majors. Faculty certified in WAC make this possible. Please stop by the WAC information booth to learn more about the WAC community at Marshall.
