IT Security Analyst


What degrees do you hold?
BS – Integrated Science & Technology with an emphasis in Digital Forensics obtained from Marshall University

How would you describe your role?
I assist the CISO in protecting the security of IT infrastructure, devices on the network, and sensitive university data. I maintain the client inventory and software deployment system, Symantec Endpoint Protection antivirus management server, and the MU Alert contact database. Also involved in patch management, license compliance, vulnerability testing, incident response, and more.

What is your favorite thing about working in IT or at MU?
Getting exposed to various new technologies and software, while applying my technical skills and ideas. I also enjoy the higher education atmosphere and getting to walk around the beautiful campus.

What is your favorite restaurant in the Huntington/Charleston are?
Jewel City – Best fish tacos in the world!

What is your favorite vacation spot?
The beach or a cabin our in the woods where I can hike or kayak. Anywhere warm and near moving water.

What are you currently watching/binging?
Classic movies from the 30s-50s.

What are some of your favorite pastime activities?
Sewing, classic movies, hiking, kayaking, outdoors, running, lifting weights, and working out.

Any additional interests you’d like to add?
I’m a volunteer seamstress for Sow for Love, a non-profit organization that provides recyclable feminine products, clothing, and hygiene kits to poverty-stricken families in Haiti. I also operate video cameras at my church and the information desk for the children’s ministry.
