Amber M. Chatelain, Ed.D.

Dr. Chatelain is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Midway University in Midway, Kentucky. Prior to joining the Midway faculty in 2023, Dr. Chatelain served as an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator of the Apparel, Design & Merchandising program at Eastern Kentucky University; Lead Faculty and Program Coordinator of the Department of Fashion Marketing & Management at the Art Institute of Tennessee-Nashville; and Adjunct Instructor of Merchandising at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Chatelain has taught over 46 unique undergraduate course subjects and has received 10 teaching awards for her innovative pedagogical approach, including EKU’s Creative and Critical Thinking Teacher of the Year on multiple occasions. Dr. Chatelain has presented her research on small businesses, social responsibility, consumer behavior, entertainment retailing, dress and gender, instructional pedagogy, and teaching and learning regionally, nationally, and internationally. Her current research focuses on customer perceptions of small business response to local community crisis in small to medium-sized towns. She has additionally published several academic research papers, book chapters, and web-based publications. Dr. Chatelain currently holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Apparel Merchandising; a College Teaching & Learning Certificate; and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Administration.

 

Rachel Brassine

Rachel has been a teaching instructor at East Carolina University in the accounting department for the last 15 years. Also, for the last 15 years, she has worked for a local family in Greenville, NC on their accounting team. Prior to her current roles, she practiced state and local tax with Big 5 (prior to becoming Big 4) accounting firms and a corporation. Rachel’s goal upon graduation is to be employed in a tenure-track accounting faculty position where she hopes to contribute to student success, academic research, and service to the university/college. Her dissertation research focuses on the relationship between CSR-linked executive compensation and real earnings management with potential moderators of board gender diversity and the presence of a board-level CSR committee. Rachel has been married for 22 years and has two children, 3 cats, and 2 dogs. She loves to run long distances and explore the woods in her spare time when not camping with her youngest.
