To continue supporting Marshall University Faculty and Staff, MU Information Technology is offering virtual office hours twice a month. If you haven’t been able to attend office hour video seminars, the recordings are available to you here. Office hour recordings are organized by the month they were originally presented.


Thursday, April 8: 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Sharing files and more in O365 – Encourage teamwork and collaboration for group work in the classroom and with your coworkers using Microsoft Office 365. Faculty and Staff are welcome to drop in and ask questions, learn more about University resources, and pick up best practices for their unique class situations. Thursday, April 22: 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Cool ways to use PowerPoint, SharePoint, Stream, & Sway in the classroom – Have you ever thought, “There has to be a way to do this…”  Join us to learn some new tips and tricks from Stacy Scudder, Professor of Mathematics.

This week we will have a special guest. Stacy Scudder, Instructor of Mathematics, will be covering several topics today such as:

  • Create a channel in Stream that can be reused over and over with only a one-time setup at the beginning of every semester
  • Recording lectures with PowerPoint
  • Using PowerPoint in live classes with blank slides to let students see you work problems in real-time
  • Use Slide Sorter view in PowerPoint to watch a whole class work on something at the same time
  • Set up a countdown to class timer in SharePoint
  • Create a shared calendar for one or more classes in SharePoint
  • Use Sway\Wakelet for student portfolios and lectures
