The Marshall University School of Music continues its Spring 2018 series of MUusic Mondays lectures at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 2, with a presentation titled “The Mysteries of J. S. Bach’s Chaconne” by Dr. Elizabeth Reed Smith, professor of violin.
The Marshall University School of Music will present a two-day residency program with artists David Moreau and Melissa Grey, who make up the duo l’Artiste Ordinaire and create sound-based performances pulling together music, visual art, science and creative technologies. Marshall University’s contemporary a cappella ensemble, 3rd Avenue, will present its Spring Concert at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Smith Recital Hall on the Huntington campus.
Internationally acclaimed classical guitarist Dr. Daniel Bolshoy will visit Marshall University for a two-day residency. He will perform a classical guitar concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, in the Jomie Jazz Center Forum, and he will conduct a workshop titled “The Intersection of Health, Artistic Expression and Technique” at 9 a.m. Friday, April 6,
Staff Sgt. Mike Principe will be on Marshall University’s Huntington campus Tuesday, April 17, to audition those who would like to play for the U.S. Army Band. Auditions will take place in Room 212 of Smith Hall.
Marshall University’s School of Music, in partnership with the Zeta Eta chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, will present a concert featuring works from American composers, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 29, in the Jomie Jazz Center Forum.
Marshall University alumna Amy McGlothlin, now a faculty member at Salem University, and her ensemble of professional saxophonists from the Boston area will perform a classical saxophone quartet recital at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, in Smith Recital Hall.
