MU Choral Festival Fall 2022

 

DATE: Friday, October 21st 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

PLACE: Smith Music Hall, Marshall University

REPERTOIRE: Chosen from the West Virginia All-State and All-State Chamber Choir lists, plus “Cum Sancto Spiritu” from Vivaldi’s Gloria RV 589, available without charge at www.cantatedomino.org. The repertoire list is posted on the website at: www.marshall.edu/music under upcoming festivals (scroll toward the bottom and you will see it on the right hand side). High schools will be responsible for providing sheet music for their students.

ATTIRE: Casual. We will wear festival t-shirts for the livestream broadcast.

FORMAT: Rehearsal of All-State music, supplemented by performances by MU Choral ensembles and presentations by members of the MU voice faculty. Students will receive a festival T-shirt and a certificate for participation. Parents may attend the final run through of music, which will begin at 5:00 pm. This will also be live-streamed and archived on our School of Music YouTube channel for family and friends or for students to review later for practice purposes.

REGISTRATION: $20/student. Checks made payable to “Marshall University.” No registration fee for directors.
