Server Backup Services

This service is made available as needed for a fee.

Marshall University’s IT Infrastructure Systems department utilize Commvault, a Gartner Magic Quadrant leader in backup software solutions. Backups are required in the event of a hardware or software failure or a catastrophic event. The Commvault solution is used to backup servers, databases, files, applications, endpoints, and VMs with maximum efficiency according to data type and recovery profile. It leverages hardware snapshots and optimizes storage with deduplication. Commvault allows for rapid recovery and restore of data along with continual reporting to improve backup and recovery processes. Our backup solution is not housed inside our primary Drinko datacenter but instead at our colocation on campus datacenter in Prichard Hall.
